Scotland Photo Tour - August 4th to 17th, 2010 - "Breathtaking scenery, history and legend, Scotland embraces and enchants her visitors"
Scotland is a land of mystery, epic legends and mist covered lochs, which unveils to the photographer a spectrum of subjects, landscapes and colour. During our 12 day photo adventure we will be traveling to the Inner Hebrides, visiting the Isle of Mull, the Isle of Iona and then north to the Isle of Skye. We will photograph some of the historic castles of the north, and visit the shorelines and small fishing villages as move to the east towards Inverness.
Photographers will have a chance to photograph wildlife and birds as we will traveling down Spey Bay, Loch Ness and the Cairngorm National Park. The majestic Osprey inhabit this area and we will spend time photographing them against the mountain backdrop of the highlands.
As we travel further to the south we will stay just outside Edinburgh in Perth, and visit Glamis Castle, the birth place of the Queen Mother, and with a history that dates back to the Mary Queen of Scots. While in this area we will be visiting Dundee and the Royal Research Ship Discovery, the tall ship that sailed to the Antarctica by famed explorer Shackleton in 1901.
Another hidden treasure from the 17th century found deep below the streets of Edinburgh is Mary King's Close. For hundreds of years the streets of yesterday lain forgotten and abandoned until now. The homes and apartments dating back to the plague, have now been opened up for visitors to descend and witness the untouched world of years past.
