We are pleased to present our 2009/2010 winter workshop series. This year's workshops will be held at the Station Park All Suite Inn on Pall Mall Street, just a couple of blocks from Stan C. Reade Photo. We will offer Tuesday night workshops that will run from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday workshops from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Listed below are the details and dates of the workshops. The cost of the Tuesday night workshops is $25.00 plus tax per person, or if you select three from the workshop series, $60.00 plus tax per person. The Saturday workshops are $79.99 plus tax per person or if you are a MyPhotoClub.com member $65.00 plus tax.

Digital 101 - Tuesday January 12th, 2009
This is a great workshop to learn all about your digital camera, especially if Santa was good to you and you received a new camera for Christmas. We will spend time talking about the functions and features of your camera, basic set-up and the importance of formatting your memory cards.
Getting your images from your camera to your computer can sometimes be a challenge, we will demonstrate some basic workflow ideas, that will make this a very easy task.
Bring your camera to the workshop, as we will break into smaller groups, so James and the staff can discuss the features of your camera and answer your questions.
Adobe Lightroom "How it all works" - Sat. January 16th, 2010 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
We are please to offer this in-deph look at the features and functions of Adobe Lightroom. During the Saturday session we will look at the five components that make up this program and how you can do 99% of your post processing within this one program.
Adobe Lightroom, offers the digital photographer the ability to manage all their images, both on their computer hard drive and with external hard drives, cataloguing all your images as you go. We will look at tagging your images for easy retrieval, and how to quickly and easily add copyright to your images.
The program breaks down into five components, Library, Develop, Slideshow, Print and Web, we will review how each of these components and demonstrate how they work.
Bring your laptop computer and work along with the instructor, we will be limiting the class size to 11 people as to offer one on one time with the instructor.
Adobe Photoshop for beginners - Tuesday January 26th, 2010 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
This workshop will help you learn more about Adobe Photoshop, we will explore some of the basic features, learn how to do cropping and re-sizing works, and explore some of the tools of the program. We will review basic photo editing and how it applies to your photography.
World of Macro Photography - Tuesday February 9th, 2010 - 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Spend a couple of hours exploring the world of close-up and macro photography. We will explore some of the techniques to get up-close to your subject. We will talk about Macro Lenses, Close-Up Filters, Extension Tubes and easy ways to light your subject. We will also spend some time demonstrating the digital photo box, and how easy it is to achieve studio results with a easy to use light box.
Bird Photography with Sue Southon - Tues Feb 16th, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Bird photography is a fun way to capture nature at its best. You are invited to join Bird Photographer Sue Southon for a evening of tips and techniques on taking images of birds.
This workshop will include areas for bird photography, birding in your own backyard, and post processing techniques in your computer to enhance your images.
Sue is an experienced birder, and combined with her photography skills, will present a very informative evening.
Adobe Photoshop "Plug-ins, Actions, and Retouching" -Sat Feb 20th, 9:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m.
Adobe Photoshop offers many add on features, such as Plug-In and Actions, which you can create or download from the internet. During this workshop we will spend time learning about the many different plug-in components that are available for Photoshop and how you can apply them to your images. Plug-ins and actions are designed to make your workflow much easier.
We will also spend some time learning how to create and save your own actions, this is very handy if you do repetitive work, such as cropping, adding text or creating a collage, or re-sizing a series of images for the web or printing.
Adobe Photoshop is also a powerful program when it comes to retouching and restoring images, and during the second half we will spend time learning more about scanning, and copying images and different techniques to restore and retouch them.

The Combination of Photoshop and your Photography -
Tuesday February 23rd, 2010 - 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Now I have the images, I want to be more creative and do something with them ... and that is what this workshop is all about.
We will spend the evening looking at different photographs and applying techniques in Adobe Photoshop to enhance and be creative with your images. Adobe Photoshop is a powerful photo program and when used in combination with your photographs can present some very interesting results.
If you have a laptop computer, you are invited to bring it with you, as you are welcome to follow along and try the techniques as we present them.
The Art of Digital Photography ... take it to the next level
Tuesday March 9th, 2010 - 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
During this workshop we will explore some of the creative ideas and techniques that can be applied to your photography when capturing your images.
We will discuss different prospectives, leading lines, and how light affects your image and easy ways to control it.
We will also present some of the images that were taken during the October Photo Tour to South Africa, and show some of the techniques that were used.
Your Photography and how to Light it ... with Dave Chidley
Saturday March 13th, 2010 - 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Welcome to the world of Photography according to Dave, his energy and enthusiasm towards the art of photography is contagious. You will leave this workshop with a whole new outlook on the way you see things and how you capture images.
Dave will spend time talking about looking for the shot, and how to create more interesting images by changing angles and being creative with your subjects. Dave will also demonstrate simple lighting techniques that can take your image from a snapshot to a work of art.
Bring your camera, bring your flash, and lets have some fun.
Adobe Lightroom Getting Started - Tue March 16th, 2010 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Adobe Lightroom is a one-stop program for all your post capture needs. You can sort and file your images, adjust and fix, create a slide show and even print your images.
During this two hour workshop, we will explore the basics of Lightroom, how to import your files, the idea behind the program and demonstrate some of it's features.
If you have a laptop computer you are welcome to bring it with you to the workshop, as you are welcome to follow along and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Digital 101 "the next step" - Tuesday March 23rd, 2010 - 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Now that your are more familiar with your camera and some of the features it has to offer, we will spend time in this workshop looking at some of the other things you can do with your camera and some of it's more advanced features.
We will demonstrate some easy photo techniques that will help you with close-up photography, which is really good if you sell things on ebay. We will spend some time looking at your workflow, and what to do with your images once you have them uploaded to your computer.
This is a good workshop for the first time digital SLR user or the photographer that wants to the the most from their point and shoot digital camera.
